Dot NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the .NAME generic top-level extension is the single TLD intended for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other labels people are popular by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level domains remained active.

You will have the chance to switch the WHOIS info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done. There are no particular prerequisites on who can secure a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
